Delhi Municipal Corporation Orders Desks and Chairs for Schools

The demonstration was led by Virender Goel, and it highlighted certain issues regarding the visit.

Furthermore, the Delhi BJP released a statement claiming that Mayor Oberoi was “trying to mislead people” by suggesting that desks were being provided to nursery students for the first time. They argued that Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya Saraswati Vihar is already one of the best MCD-run schools, complete with an auditorium facility. Additional Orders for Cupboards and Racks

Mayor Oberoi’s office clarified the situation by revealing that orders for 287 cupboards and 287 racks have also been issued. These storage solutions will be installed in schools in a phased manner, with the entire project set to be completed by October. The objective is to ensure that children no longer have to “sit on floors” at MCD schools, further improving the learning environment.

The statement from Mayor Oberoi’s office also took a swipe at the BJP, claiming that even after governing the MCD for 15 years, the party had failed to provide tables and chairs to children in all schools.
